The D&D: Decoration & Design Building

January 27, 2013

Do you ever want to know more about where to find high end fabrics and furniture? The D&D building has been a decorative landmark for over 40 years in the heart of Manhattan, located at 979 3rd Avenue. Design professionals go to this building to pick out anything from furniture to lighting to fabrics. You must be a design professional to go into the showrooms and take out samples. I have been able to go into this building because I assist a professional interior designer. Coming from someone who has never been in a building like this until a few months ago, it is an aspiring designers dream!

This is one of the current rooms in the Lee Jofa showroom. Lee Jofa has fabrics, furnishings,  wall coverings, carpets and trimmings. I happen to love this pink and green color scheme of this particular room.

The above two pictures are of the current Stark Carpet showroom. Stark also has a wide selection of not only carpet but also wall coverings, furniture and fabric.

Those are only two of the several showrooms in the D&D Building. It is easy to become overwhelmed in this building considering all the available options but I love every time I get to spend time here! I would suggest to go to the website to see the list of all the showrooms there. I hope one day you can make a visit, too. :)

Here is the link.
