Create the Look: Studio McGee's Office Retreat

January 19, 2017

Hi everyone! I am starting a new theme of posts every week dedicated to creating looks by some of my favorite designers. I browse social media and blogs often and get inspired continuously. It's always refreshing to check out others work and get ideas. One that I particularly love is Studio McGee. Shea McGee and her husband, Syd, started their design adventure together after realizing that design was their passion. I am constantly inspired by their work and find myself wondering where they find all of the beautiful items they include in their designs which lead me to this post. I absolutely love this office design below - it is so open and light but at the same time bold and curated. I find myself gravitating towards designs like these where you will find minimal pieces paired with natural, and organic elements and it never hurts when there is stunning art involved. Below you will find a list of items I sourced for you to create this same look! If you have any inspiration photos that you are loving and want to send them to me to create a post like this, feel free to contact me and maybe you will see it in the coming weeks! Enjoy :)

Fall 2016

September 10, 2016

Happy fall! I am absolutely loving the new fall collections some of my favorite stores are introducing this year! Even though they can be very different, I feel like they all have a stylish comfort about them. There is something so simple about these pieces, yet still elevated and intriguing. I'm especially drawn to all of the natural materials, textures, and tone-on-tone color palettes. I've only posted a handful, but I would recommend checking out the full collections on the stores websites. I can't wait to start using them in my designs! Enjoy :)

My Dream Home: Dining Room

January 29, 2015

A couple of posts ago I created a mood board of my very own dream living room and I have to say it made me pretty darn happy seeing so many things I love in one space. When designing any space, especially residential, I think it's important to create a consistent flow throughout -- going from room to room and can tell the same person lives there no matter what room it is but is different in it's own way. As far as my design style goes, I love the boho chic, eclectic look -- but for me, there really is no one or even two design styles I stick to. I love to throw a little mid-century, rustic and coastal in as well -- so you can say I have pretty versatile taste. Check out my post on my dream living space so you can see how it just works with this dining room. I'm pretty much in love. Links to all items below :)

rug // striped edge flatweave rug // anthropologie
captain chairs // tucker chair - black // serena & lily
side chairs // john vogel chairs // west elm
dining table // porto dining table // bungalow 5

Did you fall in love with any of these items like I did? It's okay, I can share ;) Stay tuned for a post on my dream bedroom coming soon. Follow me on instagram @laurenmaiorana for even more design, art and DIY inspiration!

Design Styles / Mid-Century Modern

May 9, 2014

Now this is one design style I can't get enough of. I love mid-century design because of its clean lines, simple style & it's ability to add interest to a space without going overboard. Here are a bunch of mid-century pieces I've picked out & if you like them you're probably into the mid-century trend like many others, including myself. These pieces are perfect if you want to add some style without looking like you've jumped into a time capsule - they will work great with other design styles as well. Which one is your favorite?
